JANUARY 31, 2017

Almost immediately after we wrapped in December, most of the cast and crew went back to their daily lives.  It was a difficult adjustment for some after spending such a magical time together, but we were all delighted to have survived the cold temperatures of the harsh nights.

A few weeks into January we released a new short teaser trailer for the film centering on Zelda, revealing her Sheik alter ego and a tease of Ganondorf at the end.  This teaser hasn’t been as well received as others due to the audio effect layered onto Sheik’s voice over here, but I take that in stride.  The effect was only for the teaser, though, so fret not if you, too, think it over the top.  While the editing team is busy with the real movie, I have been editing all our trailers, and audio is my least qualified job.

Any technical issues aside, however, this teaser was prepped and released in time for our Ohayocon debut for Legacy.  We rallied together some of the cast and took to the con to promote the film.  In attendance and in costume were Kyle Perkins (Link), Cosette Payne (Saria), Madison Kollig (Anju), and myself donning the Sheik costume (made by me but not played by me).  Cosette’s mother was also along for the excitement, and Brian Kollig, who plays our Rauru, came along out of costume for our photography needs.  Our 1st AC also tagged along, the amazingly nerdy Taylor Rohrig, who came in her very own Kafei cosplay.

We attended the Legend of Zelda official photoshoot there and met a ton of amazing fans, and their cosplays were just amazing.  It was a ton of fun chatting among them, taking pics with them, and sharing our love of the franchise.  By the time our hour was up, everyone in the room knew about Legacy.

We are planning to hit a few more cons later this year, so if you missed us this month, we’ll announce our tour soon.  Because we self-fund this venture, though, we won’t likely be hitting many this year.  Below, you can check out all the great photos Brian captured for us.

In other news, the editing team is making progress of the film.  About half of our script notes from the shoot days have been lost, so the task of syncing the audio and video files together in preparation for the edit will take a little more time than expected.  Patience shall prevail, however, and only the best is in charge of this very precious footage!

Cheers,
